Supporting Every Child to Succeed

At Gothenburg International School (GIS), we believe that every child can succeed when they receive the right support, encouragement, and teaching approach.

Our Learning Support provision is designed to ensure that all students can access the curriculum, make strong progress, and feel confident in their learning journey.


A Personalised Approach to Learning

With small class sizes of a maximum of 15 students, teachers are able to understand each child’s strengths and areas for development in detail.

This allows us to:

  • Identify learning needs early

  • Adapt teaching to individual students

  • Provide targeted academic support

  • Challenge high-achieving learners appropriately

Early Identification and Support

Learning support is not only for students who need additional help. We also ensure that high-achieving students are challenged and extended.

Strong Teacher Guidance

Teachers at GIS play a key role in supporting every learner. They work closely with students to ensure understanding, progress, and confidence in all subjects.

Where needed, teachers provide additional guidance, structured support, and regular feedback.

We believe that the strongest support comes from collaboration between school and home.

We work closely with parents to:
