Welcome to Gothenburg

Moving to a new country is a significant change, and finding the right school is an important part of helping your child settle in.

GIS welcomes families from around the world, as well as families already living in the Gothenburg region who are looking for an international education in English.

Learning in English

English is the main language of teaching and everyday school life at GIS. We offer a British approach to education, which may provide a familiar learning environment for children moving between countries and different school systems.

A Personal Start

Every child arrives with a different educational background and experience.

Some children may have studied in English before, while for others it may be a new language.

With a maximum of 15 students per class, our teachers have the time to get to know each child, understand where they are in their learning and help them settle into school life.

An International Community

Children at GIS learn alongside students from different countries, cultures and language backgrounds. We want every child to feel welcome, build friendships and feel proud of who they are and where they come from.

Admissions Are Open

Admissions are open for August 2027, for Years 1–9, from age 6.

Families planning a move to the Gothenburg region are welcome to register their interest before arriving in Sweden.
